The October Stipend is one part of the 3 months outstanding Stipends viz: October, November and December, which would be cleared separately (one after the other), to the Npower beneficiaries, according to the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS).
Hence, after the payment of October Stipends to all the eligible beneficiaries, payment of November Stipend will follow, and then the December Stipend.
Reacting to the development, Team Lead, Platforms Africa, Adeola Yusuf said that the payment of the stipends has confirmed the impact of the media group and its commitment to publishing stories that will help the course of the suffering masses.
Saying that although payment of one out of three months stipends is not enough, Yusuf maintained that it “however shows that those in government will listen and act when advocacy is propeely done on any genuine course.”
He therefore charged the Nigeria government to clear the backlog of stipends it is owing the beneficiaries.
